About Me
Hello I am Dash. I am from the US, east coast, but I live in Frankfurt Germany currently as I am finishing up my MBA. My fiancee Stacy lives in South Korea where she is teaching English. We both love our spots, but will go back to USA at least temporarily next year to get married.
I am 30, and even though when it comes to business, I might act older than my age, when it comes to having fun, I am always done to chill. I like burner communities and Ultimate Frisbee. I love playing board and card games. I love traveling. It keeps the soul young. I love learning about different cultures. I like to smile and laugh. I like spontaneity, but know plans are important. Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on to meet new friends. I am on here to see what its all about. For years I have had friends on here, who have hosted or been hosted. I went to a Couchsurfing Halloween party the other night, and it was fantastic. By the end of the night, everyone knew me, and I think I added something positive to each of their nights (I hope :))
I love meeting new people, especially in other countries, or different people who have come to stay with me.
When I was in my senior year in college in Philadelphia, a casual acquaintance came to me and asked if his friend from New Mexico could stay with me for a week. He seemed to be in a bit of a jam. So I acquiesced. Four months later I had met a special person who is still a friend of mine, and even though he lives a completely different life than me now, I always try to keep in touch with him, and now it is going on 9 years that we have been friends.
Other people I have known have needed a place to stay and I have helped them out before too. Now I am just moving it onto couchsurfing. I am currently just trying to feel out the community more and such, but I hope to get into hosting, wherever Stacy and I will be living.
On a last note, my parents for years hosted German exchange students for one or two semesters of high-school. I think in total they hosted five different young people. I become friends with all but one, (I was not living there for that one). The experiences I gained from them, and the friendships we still share are special, and I hope one day to do as my parents did, and help create these bonds.
Couchsurfing is just the first step in what could one day become a real passion.
