About Me
“COVID19 has affected our lives so hard, and it is time to get them back, hopefully”
“Travel as much as possible, meet as many as possible, keep broadening your horizon, and NEVER grow narrow-mindedness in any place of yours.”
While I was studying in university, I did not travel a lot. This is what I regret most in my whole life. Don’t you agree that the univ is the best time to travel?
Anyway, regret is just regret. I CANNOT LET this regret bite my future. After graduation, I traveled Italy, France, Belgium, and England(UK). It was amazing and unforgettable experience for me. I was really fascinated with the beauty of countries and the gorgeous world.
Back to Korea after this short trip, I came to know I desperately need more trip. So I took the flight again and my 1 yr trip to Europe began. I flew to Rome, Italy, and I volunteer at the hostel in Rome for 2 months. After then, I moved to Firenze, and rent a house there for 2 months staying like a local. During this 4 months, I visited many small villages in Italy and beautiful island, Sicily. After leaving Italy, I visited many countries in Europe such as Spain. Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Bosnia, Serbia, Netherlands and Morocco in African continent.
In my country, hard-working and diligence are generally considered as virtue. So many people always struggle to get a good jobs(high salary), to enter any good university, and to make much money. Of course, these things also have their own values. But I would like to chase my own life value. Even though it takes much time and it cannot give me the opportunity to get much money, living my own life is the most important and valuable thing for me.
So, I decide to travel. I decide to feel and experience the world, and share my story and listen to other people's. Sometimes I can travel, and sometimes I can take the opportunity to feel others through CS.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I TRULY BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF HOSPITALITY
My CS experience began at Palermo in 2016. Still I vividly remember the hospitality the host(his name is Filippo), gave me and the time we spent as local travelers. After this experience, I totally grasp why CS users host other travelers and I believe in the power of hospitality.
When I travel Europe for 1 yr, I met many Couchsurfers through hosting and hangout. I can feel their true spirit of traveling, and they are mostly very open-minded. That really impressed me. CS is NEVER in the business of providing free couch nor helping travelers save their budget. If you do not understand this simple logic, I dare think you are not the right person that can use this platform.
Meeting new people, talking with them, and being friends always inspires me. Through Couchsurfing, I can feel the country more deeply. It is definitely fantastic experience. I would like to share my story, philosophy, traveling experience, etc, and also would like to listen to other people respectfully. I really like talking with others, especially who are in the different cultural background with me. With CS, I can feel the country vividly, experience their culture, and we can be good friends. :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Especially, I love the director Celine Sciamma, Joon-ho Bong, and Chan-uk Park. I think my movie taste is a little bit minor. Do not prefer commercial film, nor a kind of killing-time movie. Huge fan of independent films. Also I love all movies which have visual beauty, good music, brilliant landscapes.
‘Portrait of a Lady on Fire’ and ‘Carol’ are the best movies I like.
Netflix and Watcha is what I use for killing time these days. Always welcome to recommend any series you like.
I especially like ‘Orange is the new black’, ‘Why women kill’, and ‘Emily goes to Paris’
I love reading. I prefer modern literature to classic literature, and boring genre like philosophy, psychology, and sociology to literature.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well, maybe this is not that amazing for some people…
[I traveled Europe for about 1 year]
To travel Europe for 1 year, I saved US$ 15,000 in 3 months only with part time job!
Well, yes, during that period, I was a kind of happy SLAVE. I don't think I can do that 'slave life' again, but it was definitely great experience. Never forget.
[Working at a hostel in beautiful Rome]
Teach, Learn, Share
I really want to learn how to make the best spaghetti in the world. ( I truly love all kinds of pasta) If you can teach me how to cook best pasta ever, I can sell my soul (I hope). Soon, my body will be changed to spaghetti!
I can share my fun soul with people:)
