Overview
About Me
My name is David, I'm a Marketing and Communications s̶̶t̶̶u̶̶d̶̶e̶̶n̶̶t̶ graduate from Austria, not Australia. My favorite countries I've visited are Canada and Colombia so far.
I love skiing, rock climbing, alpine climbing and scuba diving. I also tried kite surfing a long time ago. I wish I had the opportunity to surf more often ;)
As a mountaineer I'm a ski instructor too.
I prefer beer instead of wine. But I like wine too.
I don't just like coffee, I need coffee! But when I say coffee I mean real Austrian or Italian style coffee, not that pint of soup they serve at Starbucks. Yes, I'm picky.
Well, I'm a (not active) musician too... I love rock music!
But I also like deep house and techno.
I'm not a tourist... I'm a traveler
I ask a lot of questions and explore with an open mind.
For me it's very important to meet local people when I'm traveling.
Sometimes I ask stupid questions too. Usually I don't mean it and I'm not stereotyping so don't take it seriously :P
It's called Austrian style irony
I'm sure you will get on great with me.
PS: If you wanna take some German lessons let me know.... I know it is a badass language though
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm here to meet locals and other travellers.
But I'm also on CS to show other Couchsurfers the beautiful region I live in.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm open to all kinds of music which aren't very sellout.
My favorite books are Lonely Planet guides and maps basically. I also love biographies.
I'm a typical "New Hollywood" movie watcher:
E.g. Easy Rider, The Graduate etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Buying a '78 Plymouth and traveling all over the United States and Canada with my best friend
...but that's only ONE thing... :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share a lot of great stories of my journeys!
I usually travel with a little can of saffron which I bought at Tehran Airport for a very low price - I'll cook my world famous saffron risotto for you! Take that chance - it's free
I could give you some German lessons. Or just teach you bad Austrian words ;)
