Resumen
Sobre mí
After 2 decades of living and working around in the world, I’ve decided to settle in my home country of Scotland, in the nicest tourist/student town in my country, St Andrews. It’s famous for its university, one of the top 3 in the UK, and the world’s most famous golf course. St Andrews is VERY international with students and visitors from all over the world, including regular celebrity visits. One of the seasons from the TV show ‘The Crown’ was set here to document Prince William’s student years in the town (though I don’t watch it myself 😅).
About me:
I feel like I connect best with kind and humorous people (although I’m not saying that describes me 🙈). I do enjoy dark humour a lot but I only engage in that with people who enjoy it too. I have a lot of time to listen to their stories, share views on the world/life, and bond over wonderful experiences of true friendship.
I’m a big fan of deep, warm hugs and the healing power of human touch, but I also understand the importance of respecting everyone’s boundaries, cultural norms and comfort zones.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
Meet new people, build meaningful connections that lead to true friendships.
The most important thing for me is respecting others while doing Couchsurfing. If everyone does that, it'll be a great experience every time.
Intereses
Anything that's enjoyable and/or educational, but I'm not one for extreme activities like bungee jumping or sky diving. I don't think my heart was built for massive adrenaline rushes. I honestly also don't like nightclubs at all. I'm happy to go out to a lively restaurant/bar/pub/jazz club though. I used to go to casinos until I realised that’s death for your bank balance. 😬
Música, películas y libros
I like most things, except supernatural horror movies and heavy metal music.
Perhaps its not exciting from the perspective of modern literature lovers, but I really enjoy classic story books like Treasure Island, Moby Dick, Robinson Crusoe, The Count of Monte Cristo, Sherlock Holmes and so on. I also like crime/ detective stories by Joseph Wambaugh and non-fiction like Stoic philosophy and biographical accounts from authors like Marcus Aurelius and Alexander Solzhenitsyn.
My main genre of book just now, with trying to accept and move on from 2 years of Covid/lockdown, is self improvement. Allen Carr, Mark Manson, Ryan Holiday, William McRaven and so on. Feel free to message me for any recommendations.
Algo increíble que he hecho
Perhaps things I think of being amazing are pretty mundane to others? Or vice versa? Let's discuss it over coffee or a great meal. 😋
Enseña, aprende, comparte
I'd love to hear people's stories and to read any poetry or prose that guests might have written. I'm keen to host authors.
I also did body massage and aromatherapy oil professional training, and can do that for guests or teach you how to do it for others. It’s a really special way to build understanding and trust between two people within platonic boundaries. It’s non-erotic, to be clear. No bad intentions.
I’ve been to 45 foreign countries/territories and lived in 13 of them; happy to give travel tips if they’ll be helpful. 🙃
