I got introduced to CS in Argentina. I knew about it before, but never paid much attention to it. However I went to my first event and met some great people, so I signed up!

i love hip hop & reggae. i watch wayyyyyy too many movies and TV shows, and don't read nearly enough books (although the Alchemist is a favourite)! If it's a great HBO series, I've probably watched it ;)

also while this isn't necessarily "mind blowing" or "amazing" i organized a beer drinking pub crawl to local Vancouver breweries where we could all meet fellow travelers, hear some stories and drink beer together. Sometimes something as simple as getting people together for beer and conversation is an amazing thing :)
