Overview
About Me
middle-aged guy who grew up traveling with parents who couch-surfed with friends. Like the idea of traveling with locals. I'm willing to "give tours" of central Utah IF I have time... but I don't have a place where you can stay. Sorry.
I'm Mormon (LDS), but grew up in Wisconsin as the only Mormon in a school of about 2500 students ... so I'm not a "typical" Utah Mormon.
NOTE: Because I am Mormon, I like to think I have high moral standards. HOWEVER, I do go to bars (although I don't drink)... after all, I grew up in Wisconsin!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like the idea of traveling with locals. I'm willing to "give tours" of central Utah IF I have time... but I don't have a place where you can stay. Sorry. AND my time is VERY short... but if you're in the area, and IF I have time... we can try to get together and I can show you around. I have a convertible car, which is fun to drive up into the canyons.
I especially like meeting German-speaking people who will let me "practice", as well as people from other countries who don't mind me asking a lot of questions (former newspaper reporter, I love learning about others!)
Interests
writing, poetry (www.cyranowriter.wordpress.com) and Speak for Yourself open mic night in Provo, dive eateries, quirky anything, museums, karaoke, etc.
I'm also LDS (Mormon), and enjoy camping and hiking in central and southern Utah.
I'm ALSO the marketing director for LifeUnderTheHorseshoe.com, a live radio show featuring storytelling, bluegrass and folk music, in Spring City, UT.
I coached youth soccer and baseball for decades.
