About Me

Dave's a nice guy, and only slightly irritating. He's friendly, tries to be discreet, tries to be respectful, does not steal and is pretty honest. What you see on Dave's face is what's in his heart. Dave has a wicked, black sense of humor. But he's a fairly simple guy who manages to empathize and communicate with many kinds of people. Dave would have made a great shepherd (and might end up as one, one day).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Dave would like to meet new people, hear new stuff and learn new things. He's also planning to go traveling in the fairly-near future. Dave loves travel. And he's had some fun encounters with humans while traveling, in times past. Now he'd like to meet some more, and Couchsurfing seems like a safer way to do it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Dave likes a lot of stuff, but signature citations would be Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes, all kinds of blues, classical, folk... Movies: Bladerunner (both), Blues Brothers... Book: The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy... TV series: Red Dwarf...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

"One Amazing Thing I've Done"... Erm.. Er.... (Dave tries to think about something amazing he's done, falls asleep, wakes up, and decides he's mundane... But then he remembers snorkeling on the coral reefs of Belize, trekking on patrol through the jungles of Belize without ever getting bitten by a leech or something nasty... Oh, and that time Dave decided that the fastest way to get to that house on the other side of the rice paddy was to trek right across the rice paddy... That was pretty amazingly dumb.... )
Dave likes watching and following trails of ants in the jungle, and gazing at the stars in the night sky.

Teach, Learn, Share

Dave has very little to teach you, except what he's learned from so many mistakes in the past. Dave has lots to learn, especially about guitar and harmonica. Dave loves learning languages. Dave loves Linux, Web technologies, building websites, the Bash command line, Linux servers, Open Source software...
Dave loves coffee. Dave can be a patient listener.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Dave can share a warm, kind, compassionate heart, discretion and honesty. He can also share the bill in restaurants (Dave loves restaurants). If he eats in your home, he'll bring some nice wine, or whatever... Maybe some nice patisseries? (Dave loves patisseries, too - not to mention croissants and pains au chocolat.) If he stays in your house, he'll be happy help out in whatever way possible. (Let's adopt a reasonable definition for 'whatever way possible'...).
