Born and raised in San Diego. Avid reader and cinéphile. Tolkien and comic book nerd. I enjoy philosophy, history, literature. Overall, I just love learning, whether from books, film, experiences, or people. I'm very open-minded and like to hear people's stories. My fondest and most cherished memories are of a simple restaurant or pub setting while breaking bread with friends.

Looking to meet other people and engage in meaningful, as well as humorous, conversation. I love making new friends and enjoy talking with people over a pint of beer or food. Whether we have similar interests or completely different backgrounds, each person has their own story to share. I roomed and befriended international students from Rwanda, China, Cameroon, and Japan while in college.

Music: Punk, Oi!, Ska, Rocksteady, folk, jazz, soul, city-pop, outlaw country, classical, metal, etc… Current favourite musicians are Cock Sparrer, Empire Down, CASIOPEA, Tatsuro Yamashita, The Pogues, Gaslight Anthem, Menzingers, Street Brats, and Kaleko Urdangak.

Films: Lots of art house, giallo, and foreign cinema but I also like MCU, A24, and more Hollywood films too. Some favourite directors: Kurosawa, Seijun Suzuki, Masahiro Shinoda, Ingmar Bergman, Jean-Pierre Melville, Kubrick, Taika Waititi. Books: History, philosophy, poetry, fantasy, classic literature, mythology, sagas, drama, theology, religious studies, German Romanticism, comics and graphic novels (American, European, and Asian). Tolkien, Pushkin, and Goethe are my favourite authors.

Also a fan of anime: Galaxy Express 999, Captain Harlock, Fist of the Northstar, Lupin III, Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop, Urusei Yatsura, Ghibli, Space Adventure COBRA, Sailor Moon, Spy x Family, Dr. Stone.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2015, I circled the United States by myself for two months, by car, starting from CA>WA>PA>FL>CA, with multiple stops at the states in between.
