ABOUT ME
An open, friendly guy. Recently finished a journey that took me from the Netherlands to Georgia. A boy who likes to think of himself as a man, eager to learn but who loves to be lazy. Someone who really evolves by reaching outside of his quite large comfort zone. One who thrives on new connections with people but also someone who is a little bit afraid of new experiences.
PHILOSOPHY
Live where life takes you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
During my trip to Georgia I have surfed with a lot of great people. I can currently host people in my home. My home is veeery small (it's a single space of about 35m2). Let me know in the request you send me that you're okay with it.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In the summer of 2012 I've hitch-hiked with a friend from Köln, Germany to Novi Sad, Serbia for Exit! Festival and had the honor to be hosted three times.
In summer 2013 I attended a pancake party in Eindhoven.
From October 2013 until September 2014 I've surfed and met people through this wonderful community.
Interests
Although colourblind, photography is one of my interests and aspirations. I'm also interested in digital design, like webdesign and typography. But the thing that interests me the most is to find out what the world and the people living in it have to offer.

Music, Movies, and Books
Anything with a decent story is a good watch/read for me. I like stories with good plot-twists. With music, it of course depends on the mood I'm in, but generally I like dubstep, deephouse, electric swing and soul/funk. Terry Pratchett (of the Discworld series) is my favorite author and Lucky Number Slevin is one of my favourite movies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitch-hiking to Exit! Festival in the summer of 2012 was awesome! I have a blog online to document the trip: http://dave2exit.blogspot.com/
Living on my own for half a year in an unknown city was great too.
Discovering the abandoned Hotel Belvedere in Dubrovnik was great.
Skydiving was unreal.
Teach, Learn, Share
Show sincerity when hitch-hiking and engage the rider with conversation or anything. The most likely reason why they've picked you up is to make the ride more bearable.
Don't let the first impressions of someone set the tone of your relationship. Be open for their personality and vision.
I would really like to learn how to cook and to generally be able to take care of myself. Being in public, especially alone, can make me anxious.
