About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Live and love in the eternity of every moment... embrace meaningfullness... build community... backpack... serve more than my self... find a partner... settle in... be at peace.
ABOUT ME
Dave is kind, sincere, generous, and easy to get along with. Some folks call him super. He is generally quiet and reflective both introspectively and extrospectively as he has a strong desire to understand truth, the nature of society and love. Sometimes he gets a little high and has difficulty expressing himself. He is very much a product of his environment. He has a lot of gratitude to share with people.
He is capable but can also be highly indecisive. He is ecologically conscious, likes to prepare and eat good food. He is sometimes quiet, but loves good conversation regarding values, purpose and meaning in life.
PHILOSOPHY
Take time to reflect... Do your best to care for yourself and your environment... Live each day to the fullest... Invest in the lives of kind people... Do meaningful and fullfilling work.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Just trying it out... love to be helpful and contribute however I can.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have invested a lot in a community house that has hosted many couch surfers. Personally, I am actually more of a lawn/yard surfer because I usually sleep outside in the back of my truck in the open air.
Interests
I love to be active outside, whether it be trekking, walking, hiking, biking, planting, pruning or building... "doing yoga"... love to just sit next to water and reflect on the beauty of life and our fascinating society... Connecting with like-minded folks.
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies - Documentaries and anything with David Attenborough. Music - Positive folky, funky vibrations and all... Books - Fire on the Mountain by Ed Abbey, The Chronicles of Narnia. I don't read too much myself, but I really enjoy being read to and reading to others.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have invested time living in many communities (some Christian), farming/gardening, planting fruit trees, watching leaves flutter in the wind, butterflies, sailing, backpacking in wild lands, kayaking the California Coast (paddling amidst a pod of several hundred Risso Dolphins off of Monterrey one New Years Day, sea caves and sea lions of Santa Cruz Island, whales, birds, fish, monkeys, mountains, rivers and trees... Loving them all... There is nothing quite like soaking up the sun on next to a clear mountain stream or enjoying the view from a 14,000 ft mountaintop... That's the highest I have been.
Teach, Learn, Share
Have many practical skills and intellectual pursuits... I am a dave of all trades and ideas.
