About Me

I'm basically an artist futurist philosopher capitalist young immortal keen on fully experiencing the human dream. I was born in Australia, in Sydney. Have lived in a few places, but never anywhere that I loved as much as Amsterdam. I've been here for quite some years now. It's a small downside in finding a city that truly resonates with you... you tend to not want to leave.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've always loved staying with friends, at my place or theirs. I've found my closest friends are the ones I've lived with. I also happen to just like people. People are pretty much awesome.

Interests

Everything. Literally. I'm a guy who would argue that watching paint dry, or grass grow, is actually fascinating. I'm particularly interested in a few areas like questioning everything. Having fun. Science and technology as it does, can and will impact human experience. Actually, it feels very weird to try and list things I'm interested in... I would much prefer to just talk about them with you.

Music, Movies, and Books

Certainly my favourite books are mostly still in my head, but they're seeping out slowly. I watched an 80s film at the Melkweg here in Amsterdam last night, Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo, it was so fantastic. I recently finished a book called The Female Brain, which was fascinating. I'm currently reading a book about networks called Linked. I don't read so much fiction, I think that's because I already live in a fictional world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was in a lift with Noel Gallagher's dog on Friday night.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have strategies for most situations which I'm willing to share.. For instance, as a result of observation & experimentation, I conclude that the best way to consistently happily, positively and safely navigate traffic, is to assume there are no rules. Everyone has an equal right to be anywhere, and do anything. Actually quite a nice strategy for life too. Anyway, very important to remember this strategy when you're riding a bike around Amsterdam where I live.

I also concluded, that rationally, the best possible response to any situation, is outrageous optimism.

What I Can Share with Hosts
