Overview
About Me
I love to travel. I resigned from my job of 15+ years in June of 2014 in order to travel Asia. I previously took a 14 month leave of absence from my job from June 2011-August 2012 to travel around South America.
I used to work at a major casino on the Las Vegas Strip, and no I didn't live in a hotel, but lived very close. Since I was born and raised in Vegas and lived there most of my life to me it is normal.
I also spent 4 years in the US Navy as a missile technician onboard a submarine, 75 days of no sun or trees :-O
I am currently hosting a beautiful (if I do say so myself) full head of dreadlocks. Yes they are real and they are spectacular! I've had them for 14 years now. Yes I do wash them just like normal hair. I take very good care of them, but it is more difficult on the road. Back home I pay a professional hairdresser to maintain them.
I am a non-smoker and non-drinker but I have no problems being around smokers and drinkers.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people and have a local experience when I travel. I signed up a while ago but never used the site. There was a clause in my lease that prevented me from hosting couchsurfers when I lived in Las Vegas. But after hearing of other people's experience I wanted to try it out for myself.
Interests
Traveling, reading, cooking, photography, politics, history, current affairs, eating, etc., not necessarily in that order.
I went to school for photography but I am old school and only shoot analog, meaning film. I have my own darkroom setup so I process and print all of my own black and white photographs. Nowadays I shoot mostly toy cameras, meaning Holgas, pinhole, Holgaroid, Lubitel 166, as well as a Mamiya C330 twin lens.
