ABOUT ME

I'm a farm boy from the Eastern Cape, South Africa. I love the out doors and the water. hunting fishing diving camping are things I enjoy. On the other hand I spend too much time surfing the net and stocking up on random information.

PHILOSOPHY

don't take life too seriously, no one gets out alive. Don't worry about things beyond your control, do what you can with what you have.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just started out here so still trying to find my feet in this space. Looking to meet some interesting people with unique perspectives of where they live.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

my greatest experience so far was travelling for 5 weeks on local transport around Southern Africa. Camping where ever we could, eating out of dixies, hitch hiking across boarders, getting rained on for 3 weeks, being taken in by people we didn't know, buying whole ox hides because we could.

Movies: shawshank redemption, the green mile, forrest gump, snatch, lock, stock and two smoking barrels.

Books: will read anything but I enjoy fantasy (wheel of time, david gemmel, tolkien) to lose myself in and autobiographies for inspiration and stuff (Mandela, Branson etc.). I'm always reading something.

music: Queen Semisonic, rage against the machine, smashing pumpkins, snow patrol, dire straights

seen Victoria Falls, Rafted down the Zambezi twice, wanna do it again. done the highest bungee jump in the world.

I know quite a lot about african wildlife, I'm not bad at fixing things.
I wanna learn about spear fishing and free diving.
