About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Teach English in Chester, have lots of trips here and there, and enjoy life
ABOUT ME
I like lots of things (please see below). There's a strong chance that if you're the kind of person who will use couch-surfing, there will be at least one thing on my list that you also like, therefore we have something in common :)
PHILOSOPHY
Be good and respectful to people that you don't yet know. Then, as you get to know them better, adjust according to how they reciprocate...most decent people give what they get. If you act in this way, you'll never be lonely!
Never be without things you enjoy, and be open-minded to new things.
You can always improve yourself - self-criticism is a healthy thing.
There's always something (good or bad) to learn from other people, regardless of age, background, political views, religion, etc...
Enjoy yourself while you can, life's too bloody short not to!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'll let people crash at mine and hopefully have a nice drink with them, while I hope and anticipate that on my future travels the deed will be reciprocated by someone else somewhere else!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted people in all of my homes over the past few years (Durham, UK; Leszno, Poland; Chester, UK) and had many a good night with nice people from all over the world :)I've surfed in Warsaw, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Lille, Leszno (PL), and hopefully more soon!
Interests
Regularly at the moment: playing guitar, going out for a drink, improving my Polish, watching films, listening to music and reading allsorts of things. I'm dabbling at elementary Russian and Spanish right now, and love learning bits and pieces of other languages :)
In general (when time and availability): Darts, snooker & pool, guitar, travelling, languages (particularly Polish), football, pub quizzing, making homebrews, Countdown, cooking, eating, foreign food, reading, drawing, going to gigs, trampolining, pub crawls, lower-league football matches, PNE, writing and recording songs, real ale, knitting (I'm a natural!), fishing (particularly sea), sailing, hill-walking, climbing, swimming...will try out most things!

Music, Movies, and Books
So much music, it's hard to know where to start! I enjoy most types of music from throughout the decades, mainstream, alternative, experimental, progressive, classical or otherwise...but generally don't get much out of things like hip-hop, garage, EMO, and certain types of metal (but not all).
Most films, though not a big fan of the overly-sentimental Hollywood blockbuster types. I think basically anything non-cliche will entertain me!
Haven't read as much as I'd have liked to, though still working on it! Again, I'll delve into many genres of literature too (my two favourites are 'Trainspotting' and 'Lord of the Rings'!)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hmm, I took a 5-day train to Kazakhstan, was a contestant on TV shows Countdown and The Weakest Link, I've been a bin-man for Wayne Rooney and Noddy Holder, met Indie band Starsailor in a random country pub, seen a bittern, got born, been on local Polish radio and commented via email on national Polish morning programme, checked out 170 in darts, had my message in a bottle replied to from a person in South Africa...
Haggled in a bazaar in Turkey (in basic Turkish) to get 1 lira off some Turkish tea glasses.
I also made a homebrew beer flavoured with coffee and ginger, which was surprisingly nice!
Teach, Learn, Share
How to play darts, speak Polish (if you're a beginner or intermediate), birdwatching, snooker, English for non-natives, random general knowledge (and love to learn from others!), guitar (and love to learn other instruments).I find almost everything interesting, especially if you're interested - I'm happy to learn about whatever passions the other person has (but might draw the line at geology and shopping). Love to learn about language, music, science and philosophy :)
