ABOUT ME

I'm quiet, honest, not over confident. Until recently l'd always lived in the same beautiful area of Southern England (ok... and 3 months in Wisconsin a few years ago). Since last year I've lived in Santander in Spain.

I like being useful although I can be lazy.

Learning some new language skills has improved my outlook and world view.

PHILOSOPHY

Everything happens for a reason.

(I'm not sure you can always find this reason... a bio chemist told me that at a molecular level things may be totally chaotic).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hopefully meeting some interesting perhaps eccentric characters... I've met some Bournemouth Couchsurfers who seem a nice friendly group.

Not sure I fit the classic couchsurfing traveller mould or will actually surf couches but you never know... and I hope it helps me meet people abroad or at home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not strictly Couchsurfing but I have enjoyed meeting visitors here and showing them round the area.. makes me very proud to be local and English :)

Interests

Nature & the outdoors, walking and talking with friends. "Human beings were designed to process information at 3.1 miles per hour".

I'm interested in languages, I've learnt reasonable Spanish and some Italian... and German or Portuguese could be next.

Football but sadly don't play any more... starting to enjoy swimming. I love snorkelling, waves and in all seasons just being by the sea!

I like holidays in new places and going back to old haunts... I can usually find something interesting to read or on Tv.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Meeting my little nieces and nephew has been amazing!

I like to share my language (English) and my area.

I'd enjoy learning more Spanish and Italian... and maybe how to meditate.

I learned to play the guitar a little bit, but I'm just not musical enough to play it well!
