Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a big fan of Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Lou Reed, also like Talking Heads, Sonic Youth, The Beatles, Pavement, Modest Mouse, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Strokes, The Walkmen, Arcade Fire, The National, Parquet Courts, and many more besides. My favourite authors are John Steinbeck, Albert Camus, George Orwell, Ernest Hemmingway and Jack Kerouac. I also like F. Scott Fitzgerald, J.D. Salinger, James Joyce, Flann O' Brian, Cormac McCarthy, and Arthur Conan Doyle(I love Sherlock Holmes) My favourite movies are Cool Hand Luke, The Deer Hunter, The Hustler, Taxi Driver, Withnail & I, The Big Lebowski and There Will Be Blood, my favourite directors being Paul Thomas Anderson, Martin Scorsese and The Coen Brothers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived for a month on a secluded private island just south of the southern tip of Alaska, part of the Queen Charlotte Islands (or Haida Gwaii) which was a fantastic experience, with limited electricity, no running water, bathing in the sea, living off of the food we grew. I also came face to face with a fully grown brown bear and managed to keep calm and not get myself killed, thankfully he/she didn't find me particularly interesting.

Teach, Learn, Share

I play the guitar and learned musical theory in secondary school, so I could help someone to wrap their head around how music works, and in general I find that by having conversations with people, regardless of the topic, you're simultaneously learning and teaching at the same time.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Just my company, my music, my thoughts, my notions, my books.

Belgium, England, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal
