About Me
Welcome to my Couchsurfing profile. I've been expecting you.
my name is David, I'm a 25-year-old freelance journalist from Melbourne, Australia.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
There's something to seeing a place from the perspective of a local. I love the cultural exchange aspect of Couchsurfing.
Hotels can be sterile, and hostels while fun, don't really give you an insiders view of the city/area—and that's why I love Couchsurfing, for the fun adventures with new friends, for the hidden little city secrets and insider knowledge passed on by those who know the city like the back of their hand.
I love meeting new people and seeing new places, trying the local food (and beer)
Interests
pizza - but apart from that I'm kind of interested in basically everything. The world is one big playground waiting to be explored.
I love nature, I prefer beaches, forests, jungles, mountains over man-made attractions so if you know any cool local nature spots please let me know!
Having said that, I do appreciate the beauty and character of grand monuments and cities.
I've recently regained a lost passion for soccer, and play whenever I can. This year I have also learned to love yoga and try and practice most days. I'm also very interested in martial arts—I'm an absolute novice, but I'd be keen to learn more from as many different styles as possible.
like doing stuff. I like being outside and having adventures.
I contradict myself a lot though, because I also really love just chilling out with a good movie and great company.

Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always trying to learn. that's my main goal, and everyone we encounter along the way has something to teach us. sometimes it's obvious, sometimes it is subtle.
I'm open to trying almost anything (except skydiving. hellllll no)
As for teaching, I'm not really sure I have anything of value to teach. I did work as an English teacher in Japan for a few months. if you wanna practice your English I'm happy to help, and I can also speak Italian too so if you wanna learn I can teach you the basics (Lesson 1: pizza. pasta. spaghetti. super mario bros
I like to cook too, and I'd love to learn some local specialities.
