About Me

Hello! My name's David and I'm a thinker and dreamer on a journey of discovery. I live in Brooklyn, NY where I work in urban planning and sustainable transportation. I'm also pursuing a master's degree in that area, and love to laugh, garden, bike, travel, ski, and make great connections.

I'm always seeking to explore the gay experience and am eager to meet queer people from all walks of life, especially more mature gay men. I value those relationships and believe we have so much to share with eachother.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm an expert on 80's music - of course I mean the 1880's. I have a deep appreciation for opera and classical music and went to the Met Opera whenever I could prior to Covid. My favorite composers include Bellini, Strauss, and Massenet. I enjoy movies and books too but rarely make the time to experience them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in South Africa for six months and backpacked solo across the southern coast of the continent, living in Cape Town and visiting Durban, Johannesburg, Lesotho, and Kruger National Park. I trekked along the spectacular Otter Trail, visited remote Xhosa villages, strolled Joburg's urban markets, and scaled peaks and hiked to view thousand year old cave paintings. Even aside from inspiring my career, it was truly a life-changing experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love yoga, gardening, running, hiking, skiing, and biking, and speak Spanish and Italian to varying degrees of proficiency. I am constantly looking for new things to learn. I love one-on-one conversation and am a pretty good listener. I'd be happy to talk your ear off on a number of topics including urban planning, transportation, and public health. I'm pretty good with bike repair - though better with bike policy 😂 And I cook!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a great conversationalist, a curious and empathetic learner, and have a killer sense of humour. I'm happy to help in the garden, reach the tall things on the shelf, engage you in conversation, join you on the slopes or play with your dog. 🐶 I could also help you design your town's bicycle master plan, perform CPR, or organize your collection of Opera LPs. Really depends on your needs!
