ABOUT ME

I'm 44 years old, male, divorced but engaged to a wonderful woman. I have 5 kids, ranging in age from 11 to 19. I love new experiences, traveling to new places, and meeting new people. One of my best friends moved to England last year, so I'm planning a trip to visit him. I also decided to add several other stops on the trip, and finally ending in Italy where my fiance will meet me.

I'm friendly, helpful, smart, and I think interesting.

PHILOSOPHY

My grandfather used to tell me to do things and pursue my dreams while I was young. My dad now tells me the same thing. Both of them wanted to do so much when they retired, but health issues kept them from doing them when they were older. I want to travel and explore and experience the world now!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to Couchsurfing, but have already hosted three times, and all three were were very positive experiences. I also surfed once and that was also a great experience. I'm planning to visit some new places, and this seems like a great way to meet new people in new places and get the "local" experience.

兴趣

Traveling, martial arts (I've done martial arts for 30 years and owned a school for 20, selling it to one of my black belts a couple years ago), geocaching (I plan to geocache in every country I visit), hiking and camping, cooking (I make a French Onion soup that I've been told is the best ever, and I make hamburgers that are out of this world), trying new foods and beverages, especially new beers. I love to write and have had a few stories and articles published. I'd love to do more writing, and intend to write about my traveling experiences. I tend to jump in with both feet when something interests me. My latest pursuit is learning Italian, just because.

I was in a skydiving club in college, and I'd love to do that again.

I'm traveling to Europe for the first time this year, and I'm sure I'll see some amazing things and meet some incredible people on my journey!
