About Me

I am a graduate student at WVU (Let's go Mountaineers!). I am passionate about the great outdoors, science, and people. I want to change the world. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to do that yet. I used to think that it would surely be some crazy new invention, however the more I experience, the more I realize we don't really need a crazy new invention. We need love, understanding, and humility.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing to act on values that I have, those being values of sharing resources and exploring new places/people. I love travelling. I hate money and the headache that it creates in planning, so I want to do what I can to help out my fellow travellers, and hopefully get the same in return!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Chicago, Green Day, Maroon 5, Queen, MJ, MGMT, Billy Joel, John Denver, Zac Brown Band....not too picky as long as the music is fun and lyrically coherent.

Movies: Don't watch many anymore, but I have liked what I've seen of the Marvel movies (Thor, the Avengers, Captain America, etc). I loved Caddyshack and Silverado growing up. Will Ferrell movies have been known to amuse me over the years.

Books: How We Got To Now - Steven Johnson, Ishmael - Daniel Quinn, The Story of B - Daniel Quinn, Desert Solitaire - Edward Abbey, A Walk in the Woods - Bill Bryson

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmmm...that's tough. It all depends on perception. From my perspective, the coolest thing that I've done is work for a program called Adventure WV at West Virginia University. It was such a fulfilling and growing experience for me. With Adventure WV, I worked in a team of 4 leaders on 5 trips each summer to take 20 rising freshman students into the woods of West Virginia. It was wonderful to be apart of these new Mountaineer's experience and connection with the state. We worked to foster love and admiration for the University and our state.

What I Can Share with Hosts

So long as you are courteous to me, I will offer everything I have to you; my home, my belongings, my knowledge, my family and friends. I enjoy sharing the places and things that I love about life with others. I love welcoming friends to West Virginia and crushing whatever stereotypes they may have of the people or the state. West Virginia is wild and wonderful, and if you don't believe me, I'd be happy to show you!
