About Me

Hey guys, I'm David, I'm 27 years old and currently living in Düsseldorf to study Social Work. I'm an open minded and respectful person and I'm always curious about other cultures, cuisines, perspectives and habits <3
Since I got stuck in this CPOVID-19 situation way too much I thought it might be healthy to go out into the world again. I'm planning to do an interrail to Spain and Potugal in March, since I havn't seen these beautiful places yet, even though they actually are so nearby.
By the way: I'm three times vaccinated and I just cured from Corona, which kinda means I had my fourth shot already...

I'm looking further to meet some beautiful minded people, exchanging thoughts, wishes and hopes and to just spend a great time together, maybe sharing some food and/or drinks, going out together, maybe playing boardgames and having good coversations, the deeper the better :)

It's important for me to respect and accept each other the way we are, so for me NO-NO's are: sexism, trans- or homophobia, racism, antisemitism or any conspiracy theories! But still: of course we can have different opinions about society or politics or whatever it is :)
See you soon, hopefully <3

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First of all the obvious: it's much cheaper to travel by surfing on someones couch ;) But most importantly I don't like staying in a hotel seperated from what's actrually going on in a place. So I think couchsurfing is a great opportunity to get to know some local people, maybe even make friends and learn about their lifes and culture! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a big fan of fantasy novels (and also series and movies), even though I'm not reading much belletristic literature these days anymore :/

Same goes for movies and series, but I'm open for all kinds of stuff, except horror movies :D But what I appreciate the most are movies/series which referre to topics/issues of history, society, environment or the stories of different people from all over the world.

When it comes to music I'm not having clear favorites at the moment. I really like Rap and Hip-Hop, but when it's about partying I prefer electronic music which is slightly psychedelic at least and also taking you onto a jourey. Drum N' Bass is also pretty nice to dance to :D When I'm relaxing I really love Ambient/Downtempo or Downbeat with diverse ethnical influences from all over the world. And Afrobeat as well as Raggae are also good vibes for me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Having a wonderful night with some friends or even random peole I just met. Having these good conversations, living the moment and watching the sunrise. That's basically the feeling of being connected to others. For me, these occasions are the best experiences which make me truely happy!

Teach, Learn, Share

For me, that's what couchsurfing is about. Communication as well as sharing thoughts and experiences can help us to grow as human beings. It's basically the exchange between us, the giving and the taking without any materialistic foundation, which can make our world a better place (I hope).

I was learning a lot from visiting different countries or even living abroad: about being equal in our differences, no matter if it's religion, culture or the social standing in society. I'm eager to learn more from the people I'm meeting on my way, and of course I'm open to share my thoughts and experiences with you. Maybe we can help each other by sharing different perspectives onto what ever seems important to us :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I share what I have, which is basically my time and my character. I'm a good and emphatic listener and I might have one or the other advice if you want to hear it.
Quite some people say I'm cooking good food, so I could offer that as well xD
