Hey, I'm David.

Currently living and working here in the Falls as the manager of a Verizon store. I spend my free time either gaming at home during the week, and my weekends either helping the parents with the latest renovation project or fishing on the lake/river.

Before here I spent a year in Denver for school, finishing my associates for work in the aviation electronics field.

Before Denver I was in the Air Force. I was stationed for three years in Aviano, Italy . About 45 minutes north of Venice, right at the base of the Dolomites. Such an amazing place to be able to live. I was able to do a lot of traveling around Europe, although not as much as I wish I could have!

I think the idea of couch surfing is awesome.

When I finish I want to take some time and couch surf across Europe and Asia. I figure that hosting and being able to meet people, and listen to their experiences would be a great way to start getting ready for my journey.

Música, películas y libros

Huge into books. Top 3 series has got to be, in no particular order, the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson, the Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan, and In Fury Born by David Weber. Basically anything fantasy or military scifi will get me hooked.

Music for me is a mood thing. Sometimes you'll catch me listening to the top 40, other times it's nothing but indie, maybe even the occasional country music binge? Nearly anything besides hip hop.

For movies, I love a good comedy. If it can make me laugh, I'm going to see it. I also love those mind fuck movies that make you think.

As for TV, I don't watch much. Game of Thrones, Californication, Shameless, Stargate.

My unit got deployed to Łodz, Poland in March 2013 because of all of the Russia/Crimea shenanigans. We were the first American military in Poland in several decades. When a group of 300 americans goes someplace, the locals find out.

So, a group of us were trying to find where to get dinner that night, and we picked out this hole in the wall looking place that turned out to be a family owned and ran Jewish restaurant. When the owner found out that our group were Americans, he and his wife actually sat and ate dinner with us.

Now in Poland, drinking is part of the culture. Refusing a drink is something you just don't do there. So when this man and his wife joined us for dinner he of course offered us some of his home made vodka, we were obliged to accept.

When I say some, I mean TEN shots over the course of a TWO hour dinner. On a Wednesday. The Polish don't mess around. Holy crap were we drunk. To top it off, the entire main street we were on was closed for construction.

The walk home was 30 minutes of a group of drunks stumbling through road construction. So much fun.

The owners son decided that he would be our guide to Poland during our stay there. We got the locals version of Łodz, which was freaking awesome.
