About Me

Hey! I'm David, a 39 year old originally from Santa Marta, the Caribbean coast of Colombia, though Medellín has been my home for the past 14 years. Two very different cities that have shaped who I am in very different ways.

A lot has changed since I first joined this community back in 2019. Professionally, I've grown into the world of B2B tech and sales, working with companies across Latin America and Europe, a journey that has given me the privilege of connecting with people from very different cultures and backgrounds, something that has only deepened my love for human exchange.

On the home front, my loyal companion Oliver, a Siberian husky who used to greet every guest at the door, is no longer with me. But about three years ago, while he was still around, a new character showed up: Denver, a gorgeous Husky-American Akita mix who decided this was his house too. He never quite got the memo that he's supposed to be calm. 🐾

What hasn't changed is what I value most: genuine conversations, stories that only come out late at night over something warm to drink, and the kind of connection that reminds you that people, at their core, are more alike than different.

I still believe the greatest wealth any human being can have is lived experience, and this community has given me some of the most memorable ones.

P.S.: I still recommend leaving your review in your native language. Let your people read your words the way they were meant to be felt.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Seven years and 40+ references later, my answer is still the same, but it runs a lot deeper now.

I'm here because I genuinely believe that one honest conversation with a stranger from the other side of the world can shift your perspective in ways no book, course, or conference ever could. I've had guests who became friends, hosts who became life references, and encounters that changed the way I see my own city.
I'm on Couchsurfing to keep collecting those moments, and to offer them too.
