I'm a born and bred Wellingtonian from New Zealand. I'm always looking for a good laugh with someone and I love meeting people from diverse walks of life and listening to their stories.

I studied for five years at Victoria University and eventually ended up with an BA Honours in Film Studies despite taking a few detours in History, Development Studies, International Relations and Political Studies.

I'm working towards a career in filmmaking with my interests focusing on cinematography and editing.

I'm also passionate about sport having played soccer, cricket, American Football and squash over the years.

At the moment my plans are to travel the world while meeting as many people as possible and on the way build up my filmmaking experience.

I've always found that making friends with the locals is the best way of experiencing a new place. I want to try and avoid the usual trappings that you can get stuck in when you approach traveling as a tourist. Instead I want to meet and get to know as many of the locals as possible and experience some of the hidden gems of each new destination.

I'm extremely new to couchsurfing but I've heard nothing but positive things. I think it would be an amazing way to meet like minded people getting involved in a community.

Interessi

I think about films and filmmaking virtually every second of everyday but otherwise I love learning, sport, music, photography, trying new foods and meeting like minded people. And of course traveling to exciting new destinations and getting amongst the local culture is important to me as well.

I try to keep an open mind when it comes to music, movies and books but some of my favourites are:

Music: Kendrick Lamar, The Black Keys, Led Zeppelin, Flying Lotus, Pink Floyd.

Movies: Apocalypse Now, The Shining, Beau Travail, Shaun of the Dead, Lost in Translation, Chinatown.

Books: Friday Night Lights, Can't Stop Won't Stop, The Bone Clocks, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

Living with the locals in Phnom Penh, Cambodia for five weeks. Having a few beers and eating ALL of the local delicacies with our local hosts was a definite highlight even if there was a pretty significant language barrier.
