About Me

When I'm not developing Wordpress websites, you can find me solving puzzles, traveling, or speaking at a Toastmasters meeting. I built Forrager (http://forrager.com), which is the largest online resource and community for the cottage food industry.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like listening to ambient/peaceful or epic music while I work, but the truth is that I mostly listen to audiobooks in my "hands busy, mind free" time. Some of my favorite audiobooks are How to Win Friends and Influence People (a book I recommend to pretty much everyone), The 5 Love Languages, The Greatest Salesman in the World, The Strangest Secret, The Richest Man in Babylon, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, and Rich Dad, Poor Dad (a book that changed the course of my life). I also enjoy listening to inspirational speakers. I am always looking for great, timeless books to add to my library.

I don't watch many movies these days, but when I do, it's usually a comedy, sci fi, adventure, or thought-provoking movie. I watched many TV shows when I was younger, but now it's down to two: Survivor and The Big Bang Theory. The game of Survivor actually evolves over time, much like life itself, and it's fascinating to watch.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I helped build and race a solar car across the Australian Outback.

Teach, Learn, Share

On a daily basis, I teach people how to start their own home food businesses. I could talk about anything related to the cottage food industry or entrepreneurship for hours on end. I also have been quite involved in Toastmasters for a number of years, and I help people improve their public speaking skills. And given that I am a web developer by trade, anything surrounding the Wordpress space is fair game for a conversation.

But if you really want to get me to talk, let's talk spirituality. I am most interested in discussing the deep questions of life, such as "Who are we?", "Why are we here?", "What is true?", and "What is life?" Don't worry, I talk about "normal" things too, but if you like engaging in deep philosophical discussions, I'm game. I love to think and analyze (sometimes too much, perhaps), and I love learning more about life.

What do I want to learn? The better question is, what are you passionate about and have to teach? As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "In my walks, every man I meet is my superior in some way, and in that I learn from him." The fact is that I don't yet know everything that I want to learn, and that's the beauty of it.

I can share experiences and stories from my own life and travels. I can also share (and possibly make!) my family-famous (not yet world-famous) chocolate chip cookie and/or fudge recipes.
