About Me
“So live as if you were living already for the second time and as if you had acted the first time as wrongly as you are about to act now!” ― Viktor E. Frankl
Make the most out of the brief life we have, but don't be too harsh with yourself. I really do hope we already met in our past lives, so we can repeat it soon ;)
I'm an outgoing introvert who was brought up bi-culturally, Brazilian-German, in Rio de Janeiro and has been living in Munich for eight years.
I believe in sharing your culture with others. Empathy is extremely important but is only possible if you somewhat have an idea of how the perspective on life of others is.
If you don't tell others how it's like to walk in your shoes, they'll never know, but you also have to be interested in the other person's shoes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe chance encounters can greatly enrich one's life, somewhat of a magic sauce with respect to our experiences.
On Couchsurfing, I'm looking to proactively have these encounters while also getting to know new people, cultures and countries in the process. I strongly believe that Couchsurfing is the best platform to do this since my impression is that most here also are open to and seeking new experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books:
* El Hombre que Amaba a los Perro - Leonardo Padura
* A Hora da Estrela - Clarice Lispector
* Lord of the Flies - William Golding
* Animal Farm and 1984 - George Orwell
* Homo Faber - Max Frisch
* Der Trafikant - Robert Seethaler
Movies:
* Relatos salvajes - Damián Szifron
* 2001: A Space Odyssey - Stanley Kubrick
* Cinema Paradiso - Giuseppe Tornatore
I'm very open to all sorts of Music both listening and playing.
If I had to narrow it down to my favorite albums:
* Moderat - Live ( tinyurl.com/4s9qtyk8 )
* Caribou - Our Love ( tinyurl.com/1con5wk6 )
* Sigur Rós - Valtari ( tinyurl.com/ymx4c2wo )
* Chopin Nocturnes
Brazilian Tango is definitely up front when it comes to playing. I doubt there's someone that can resist the urge to start dancing to a Brazilian "choro" - much more upbeat than the name implies ;)
* Zequinha de Abreu - Tico Tico no Fubá ( tinyurl.com/2sdoe5t3 - end )
* Zequinha de Abreu - Sururú na Cidade ( tinyurl.com/2sdoe5t3 - beginning)
* Chiquinha Gonzaga - Gaúcho (Corta-Jaca) ( tinyurl.com/5dcdkas0 )
* Ernesto Nazareth - Odeon ( tinyurl.com/3trgwhnd )
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
* I led the development of an autonomous race car with a team of Students in my spare time (https://www.munichmotorsport.de/team/team-2019/)
* Cycled from Lisbon to Málaga by the coast in 10 days, camping along the way (~1000km)
Teach, Learn, Share
Definitely teach that which you're passionate for. The best teachings come from those that absolutely love what they're teaching. I would be very interested in learning some local cuisine, so I really hope you're passionate for that ;)
Conversely, I can share a lot on cooking, sports and tech.
I'm eager to learn new cultures, always respecting where they come from and what the background of their beliefs is. I'd love to get to know yours!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Music! If there's a keyboard or piano, I can introduce you to some of Brazil's classics.
Also, I can share my experiences as a bi-lingual and bi-cultural person who's already lived in both countries of origin (Brazil & Germany) and is very interested in History.
If you're up for it, we can also do some Sports together. Jogging through a new city or region is one of the best kinds of sightseeing.
