Ill be traveling America for the summer on a J1 and am flying out ahead of my friend that joining me so I'll need somewhere to crash for a few days, I thought this would be the best way to see NY and would be the most fun.

I traveled on my own for 10 days in the Scottish highlands living out of my backpack last summer. Walking 150Km and cooking my own meals everyday I was completely dependant on my ability to navigate the trail and sustain myself alone.
