About Me

I am a friendly, open-minded, 37-year-old English guy, living in a 2-bedroom flat a short walk from the beach in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. I have a second bedroom, which has a sofabed. Or I have a pretty comfy couch. The second bedroom is also my work from home office, so I may require access during the day. I've been living in Sydney for the past 5 years and love it! It's an incredible place to visit, but it can get expensive. Always happy to share tips, and suggestions on what to do. I'd like to host those who are interested in a bit of socialising, and not just a free bed for the night. It's not a party flat (in fact the building has very chilled vibes), but always up for a glass of wine or a few beers at the pub.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am new to hosting, but I've traveled a fair bit, and have always felt a huge amount of gratitude towards the people who helped me along the way. I know what it's like to live on a shoestring, I know how expensive traveling has become post-pandemic, and I'd like to help if I can. I'd also like to meet new people, share stories, and maybe have a few new adventures along the way!

Music, Movies, and Books

Love movies - top 3 would be Fifth Element, White Men Can't Jump, aaaand, The Big Blue.
Music I listen to a lot of different genres, mostly older music I reckon.
Don't read as much as I should, but usually novels. Reading some Jonathan Coe currently.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seen a Blue Whale.

Teach, Learn, Share

Share meal, drinks, conversation, coffee, swim, walk.
I speak French and English fluently.
Would love to improve my Spanish!

What I Can Share with Hosts

My flat isn't massive, but it has a nice balcony that gets a fair bit of sun, and you'll be about 5 minutes walk from one of the nicest beaches in Sydney. There's also a nice highstreet so you can experience the Aussie brunch culture, and a supermarket across the road.

I can provide a bedroom with a sofabed, which can either be a single, but extends out to a king (although a bit on the short side). The bedroom is your in the evenings and nights, but I will likely use it as my office between 9-6 weekdays.

Happy to cook up a meal, go on a beautiful coastal walk, go for a swim/surf.snorkel, or have a couple of drinks and a chat.
