Overview
About Me
I'm curious about the world and I'm always trying to keep my mind open for new ideas.
I travel (and host surfers) mostly to experience other ways of life and to look at beautiful (not just touristic) places, which I sometimes try to capture with my camera :-)
In my free time at home I'm hosting couchsurfers and try learn more about the world. Through books and youtube videos mostly ;-P
Besides that I'm currently very involved in a local community gardening project. Want to see our garden? It's awesome. ;-)
I'm working fulltime Mo-Fr and sometimes spend the saturdays in the garden. So I might not be able to show you around the city while you are here, but i can point you to the best parts and spend the evenings with you, hopefully. :-)
Note: I'm a vegetarian, but my kitchen can also be used to cook meat ;-P
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is a great way to actually meet local people in the places I visit.
And I believe that the point of traveling is the contact with new people and cultures rather that just the sights. But the sights are cool too :-P
While I'm home it gives me the chance to get to know interesting people from around the world who visit Zurich. :-)
Interests
I usually try not to talk too much about the following topics, because I don't want to bore people. :-P But if you are interested, we can have discussions about:
- Politics, which is much more interesting, once you realize, how it's shaping your life
- Technology: Automation/AI/electric cars, you know.. that stuff.
- Ecology: Ask me about my job if you are not affraid to talk about climate change.
- Food: I love food and think it is usually underappreciated.
- History: Even though I didn't like the subject in school.
Don't like these topics? Tell me about your interests then ;-)
- culture
- photography
- traveling
- life
- sustainability
- sharing
- future
- vegetarian cooking
- playing piano
- computer programming
- urban gardening
Teach, Learn, Share
Experience has shown me, that every person has fascinating stories and knowledge, that they will share, if you get past the small talk part of a conversation. I love to listen and learn from those stories.
On the other hand I can talk for hours about a topic that I'm interested in (see above). Please stop me when you have enough ;-)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Conversations that are hopefully interesting to both of us. ;-)
Bonus: I can help out with computer problems ;-)
