I am a Secondary English teacher living in Bangkok, Thailand. My main pastimes or interests revolve around the arts, music and culture as well as taking a keen interest in playing pool/billiards at an amateur level and travelling in South East Asia. I love sitting in and chilling (420) and talking or reading in delicatessens and coffee shops and enjoy watching live music and comedy.

Exercise-wise I like walks and hiking when in Europe and swimming when at home in Thailand. I used to be a keen traditional martial arts enthusiast and still appreciate the benefits of yoga and meditation, two skills which I still do from time to time. I am a very open-minded individual and am friends on Facebook with people from all over the world, however I have only just signed up to Couchsurfing so am yet to build up a good network of connections, my wife is Thai and we often enjoy travelling together and visiting places of interest.

I consider myself an empath who enjoys the company of a good host and can mutually reciprocate their hospitality by being a friendly and interesting person.
I have travelled fairly extensively in South East Asia after having lived and worked as a teacher there for 10 years.

I am easy-going without being overly chatty or outwardly demanding. I think this concept of travel/accommodation is an ethical bonus which opens doors and opportunities to meet new and interesting faces around the world.

I have been an English teacher for 10 years in Bangkok, and previously an English/Drama teacher in England for 5 years.

I was a student of Shaolin Kung Fu for 5 years in the UK, I love pastimes which have no limit to the amount of learning or depth within... hence I have also experience as a performing amateur musician and pool player.

I have a good knowledge of Thailand and general hot-spots and culture in South East Asia. I used to be a guitarist in an alternative band as a teen in the 90's and still play acoustic guitar from time to time. I enjoy chatting about news and popular culture, but find today's music somewhat lacking in comparison to the last century and much prefer older stuff, many different genres. I am also interested in yoga, meditation, pool and billiards and can discuss or give pointers in those fields. I like organic food and home cooking; although I do not cook so much these days I am more than happy to contribute and hopefully treat a host for brunch or dinner etc.

I am open to any requests for purchasing certain items that a host is interested in from Thailand (e.g. shirts, handbags, silk etc.)
