what I love most about travelling is meeting new people, which is relatively easy in hostels, but since the hostel concept Isn't as prominent in the US I think CS is a great substitute for that and a way to get a really personal feeling for a place.

I recently hiked for about 8 hours to an old military base on the top of a mountain on the border between Croatia and Bosnia. I had to navigate home in a mine field with still active mines which was scary but exhilarating to say the least!
