About Me

Born and raised in London to South African immigrant parents, travelling has been a central part of life for as long as I can remember. I've been fortunate enough to work, study and travel in some of the most fascinating parts of the world; from building an edtech social business in Yangon (Myanmar) to exploring the Tibetan Plateau in south-west China, I'm inherently curious and love exploring and experiencing new things!

Fascinated by emerging technologies, I'm currently contracting with a group of companies called Founders Forum in London while also building a clean tech incubator (www.bolabs.co) based in Shanghai where I'll be starting a masters in low carbon engineering this coming summer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and experiencing 'local' things to do in the places I visit when I'm travelling so couchsurfing is a great platform to do both!

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't really have any favourite music or movies but I definitely have a favourite book being Nelson Mandela's book 'A long walk to freedom' - a must read!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling solo around China (being able to speak no Chinese at the time) when I was 18 and climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and Mt Blanc as a teenager are a couple things I'm particularly proud of.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some sports (tennis, rowing) and also English and to an extent Chinese if you're an absolute beginner! I would like to improve on my decent Chinese (Mandarin) and also learn from other people's life experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My travel and climbing experiences, my philosophy about life and I guess a few interesting stories from what I've been fortunate enough to have experienced in my life thus far!
