Overview
About Me
Out of town for the time being, but happy to meet as soon as I'm back! :-)
_______
I was already 20 when I stepped onto a plane and left Europe for the first time, but ever since I have been spending as much time abroad as I could. My favorite way to get to know new places is by backpacking and/or living there for a couple of weeks or months.
I have now been living in DC for six years. I have never stayed this long voluntarily in one place (not even back home in Germany!), so I guess I really like it here (at least for the time being ;-)). Even though I still have itchy feet and am glad that my job offers me plenty of opportunity to travel in Latin America and the Caribbean, I am more aware than ever of the upside of taking a break from moving around all the time. For example, I do more sports, so that I could even run the New York Marathon not long ago. I am also trying to learn Salsa, improve my language skills, and started playing the guitar again. You see, it can be good to be "home"!

MUSIC
My playlist is very diverse (maybe even chaotic?) and there is usually a song I like in every genre. I do have a tendency though to like songs that I can play on a guitar or to which I can sing along (though I am taking great care that nobody hears that... ;-)).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Depends on your definition of "amazing". But what I myself particularly enjoyed in the last three decades was running the New York Marathon, canyoning in Slowenia, a 1100 km long bike tour from Konstanz to Marseille, and living and backpacking in Australia, Lesotho, Cuba, and the Balkans.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: German & English (I'm quite good at reviewing and revising stuff, e.g. CVs), lifehacks, playing the guitar (at least if you are a beginner).
Learn: I'd love to get better at speaking Portuguese and dancing Salsa.
Share: Within certain limits, I can cook well (not consistently though, working on that ;-)).
