My name is David Mackay i have decided to travel and take a year off before starting university. I was born in St john's, Newfoundland Canada and have lived here all my life besides 4 brief years in Vancouver, Canada until i was four. I am a outdoors enthusiast growing up in Canada i have had the chance to spend muh of my free time hiking, mountain biking, whitewater kayaking, camping, and whatever else i get the chance to do! I am a openminded person and would like to try everything once (almost everything)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing because i have heard it is a great way to find accommodations while traveling and for not too expensive. Both great things for a student with almost no money!!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite books would have to be the lord pf the rings trilogy or the hobbit. I love the fantasy of it all but i think the real reason i enjoyed them so much is the idea of going on an adventure like bilbos in the hobbit! You don't know exactly whats going to happen but you go with the flow. My favorite TV shows would be Game of thrones (I tried reading the books but they where much too long) and the office (i've seen too many times too count) . My taste in music is all over the place i listen to alternative bands as well as hip hop, and rock. I don't really have a favorite genre i just like what i like.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing i've done would be whitewater kayaking the rivers on British Columbia the scenery is beautiful and the rivers where running fast with glacial run off!
