About Me

Currently surfing Denver, meeting beautiful people, finishing up a book and haunting comedy open mics.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have wanted to be a standup comedian and/or a writer since I was about ten years old. Years hiding from the stage to accommodate fear and anxiety, decades of writing nothing that inspired me, far too much university and an endless stream of jobs whose restrictions and commandments I could not accommodate conspired to grant me the gift of a solid midlife crisis.

There is no greater gift, sincerely...

300 adipose pounds, unhealthy in mind, body and spirit has become 200 fit pounds, feeling happy, confident and creative.

As I compose this profile, my second book is near completion, a third is haunting me and the stage has lost its terror.

Time to live.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music baffles me sometimes. I enjoy non-fiction books and quality SF. Books about hobos, hustlers, outsiders, carnies and the rejected all catch my eye.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On 9/11 I watched from home with my infant son, all day, gorging on the newsfeed, feeling the world was ending.

My son was unimpressed. No more than an hour after the first plane hit he crapped himself.

Terror, tragedy, war... the products sold on commercials sandwiched between it all... turns out nothing was more important than wiping my son's ass.

I don't know if that is an amazing experience, but it was a profound learning moment for me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I look forward to swapping tales of adventure and discussing ideas. Deep ideas. Ridiculous ideas. Ideas that make no sense. Ideas that can save the world until the Pinot wears off.
