About Me
Hola! I'm open-minded, friendly, tidy and easy going. I come from a beautiful place on the Gold Coast, Australia, called Coolangatta.
I've been working in the Middle East for the last few years, but now I've set aside some time to see and do a few things I've been meaning to do for a while... like learning to surf! And, hopefully, learn some Spanish. I love meeting like-minded people on the road, to share in the adventure, and to learn from others - everyone has a unique take on life...
After leaving Australia in April this year, I've traveled through Southeast Asia, Canada, and part of the United States, staying mostly in Airbnbs. I thought to try Couchsurfing for a change, as I've heard only good things about it!
Cheers,
David
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm interested in the concept of Couchsurfing, as an alternative to more traditional forms of travel. Of course, it's a great way to get in with some locals, to get advice, and make some contacts! And I think the principle behind Couchsurfing is fantastic, and something we could more of in the West: to open our doors and share our homes.

Music, Movies, and Books
I've really enjoyed a few memoirs of late, that I've picked up while travelling: From the Land of Green Ghosts, First they Killed my Father, Forty Years Stoned: A Journalist's Romance.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Taught English at a school near Siem Reap, Cambodia, for a week, after a chance meeting with a local monk. It was exhausting, but rewarding!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Myself, my photos and my experiences! And of course, tips for traveling Australia, and what to do when you come across deadly wildlife...
