Overview
About Me
I am a college graduate (BA in Liberal Studies) who has lived in the Denver area for close to two years after spending 28 years in Pittsburgh. I have studied Astrology for twenty years and wish to be an astrologer. I am also a political activist and do a biweekly radio show -- I know a lot about various indie music. It's a great hobby, but there's no money in radio.
I am considering graduate school options, perhaps something related to astrology (like psychology). I care deeply about animals; I also did coursework in big agribusiness, sustainability and animal welfare that was considered masters-level.
My tastes are fairly indie (in film, music, books) and I also do a weekly radio show during the summer. Watched "Selma" recently, so interested in civil rights. I've studied astrology for a long time and very knowledgeable. Also waiting for my book on Myers-Briggs personality. This one is called "Please Understand me", and it's exhaustive. I am bordering INTP/INFP. Yes, I'm both introverted and intuitive.
I love to travel and want to do more of it than I have been if possible. I spent ten days in Hawaii (for the first time) and am seriously thinking about at least semi-relocating there. If you've been there you know how friendly and helpful most people are there. I drove from Pittsburgh to Colorado in late July and spent seven nights there -- I do tend to drive more than fly if possible.
In general I try to be a good person and appreciate that in others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Exploring cost-free lodging on both ends. It's a way to give back.
Interests
Astrology, animal advocacy and sustainable agriculture, indie music and art (do summer radio show), autism, real estate investment, speculative investment (equities, etc.), architecture. Graduate school may or may not encompass the animal advocacy/sustainable agriculture. I may end up doing something far more conventional.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music -- Stereolab, Lisa Germano, New Pornographers (to name a few)
Film -- Waking Life, indie film in general, documentaries, etc.
Books -- I use books primarily for reference (nonfiction). Lots of astrology books. Or Thomas Piketty's Capital, or Anne Lamott, believe it or not.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I parasailed in Hawaii. Wrote memoirs totaling roughly 1100 pages (definitely need an editor though).
Teach, Learn, Share
Hiking and exploring mountainous areas, beauty, places popular with the locals, getting settled.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Autism, factory farming (if you are interested to know or already know), health care, indie music, film, philosophical thinking. I am usually very giving and try to help people.
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Canada, England, Hungary
