Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm David. Yes I am from the UK, but unlike 52% of my countrymen I do still want to be part of the EU. I love being able to travel around the continent, meeting new people and experiences new cultures. I can't explain why most people wish to leave, other than the fact that we have a large number of very narrow minded people in my country.
So what to say about me? I'm a fairly simple soul. I love going out for a wander whether that's in the countryside or around a city. I have a passion for mountaineering and love few things more than a good hike. I'm also learning to paraglide and have recently gained my license in the UK. I work in wildlife conservation and have spent time in Greece and Portugal studying Turtles and wolves respectively. Both amazing experiences.
I have also just finished a Masters degree in International Development and have a strong interest in politics.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I usually either camp or stay in hostels when I go travelling. However, a friend from the Czech Republic introduced me to Couch Surfing a few years ago. I love the idea of meeting and staying with local people and learning about those places through their eyes. So, I'm giving it a try.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once ran the Marathon des Sables, a 155 mile, 7 day running race across the Sahara Desert. You had to carry all your own equipment (except water) and run in temperatures up to 46. Sounds insane, but it was an incredible experience. You learn a lot about yourself.
