About Me

I am a young nomadic Irish lad with a love of travelling and living life! I recently graduated with a degree in Media & Film at University in Liverpool.

I love music, I play the guitar and wish to learn more instruments in the future such as piano and banjo.

I worked full time during my course at University, with the money I saved up I went travelling for 9 months across The America’s, beginning my travels just 1 week after graduating. In the future I would like to have similar lengthy adventures across the other continents. Along the trip across North, South and Central America I used couchsurfing to help me along the way, my trip would not have been possible if it weren’t for the amazing people I met on Couchsurfing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I realised that couchsurfing was much more than just a free place to stay, it was about meeting new people, making new friends, sharing cultures and much more than just a free place to stay for the night.

My Brother who is a few years older than me and also a keen explorer became a couch-surfer a few years ago when I advised him to become one, since then he has met many people and even started hosting people in our hometown (he has since moved). When he hosted couch-surfers I had the pleasure of meeting them and I can tell you I met some of the coolest people I've ever met. I couldn't help but ask them questions and talk to them about their experiences, these are conversations that you can't have with a typical friend, these conversations are that are special and unique with people on Couchsurfing.

Furthermore my ultimate goal in life is to travel throughout the world as I believe that life is for the living so live it or you're better off dead, and along this adventure I want to meet people from around the world, bask in their culture and for them to help create memories for me, as I hope to do for them.

Interests

I love sports, especially football (if you're American "soccer") I am a massive Manchester United fan, in fact while I lived in England I worked as a security steward for Manchester United for a year, this was a dream come true for me, I even got to meet some celebs such as David Beckham! Other interests: music, travelling (obviously), and just trying out new things!

I love animals, especially cats and dogs. So I don’t have a problem if you have pets as they could even cheer me up by reminding me of home 😊

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all genres of music. My favourite band is Oasis, I listen to them alot. Since I was 13 I have self-taught myself how to play the guitar and I have become quite good at it, I love nights were my friends and I are just sitting in playing songs on our guitars and drums. In the future I wish to learn how to play the piano and the banjo, and maybe the ukulele too.

My favourite Movie is Forrest Gump, I love how this simple guy who is never expected of accomplishing anything just lives probably the most exciting life out of anyone without truly realizing it. Another film I love is The Secret Life of Walter Mitty because its just a film that makes you want to get out there and see the world!.

Books? The only book I've ever read is Where's Waldo. As for books I'm not really that into them to be honest, if I do read them they tend to be Travel books or autobiographies. I think years of having to reads hundreds of books in school and university has slightly put me off reading (for the time being).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been very fortunate in my life to have experienced many great things such as:

Performed at “The most famous Club in the World” (Cavern Club in Liverpool)
CN Tower EdgeWalk in Toronto
Kayaked the Colorado River
Star gazed in the deserts of Moab
Visited Machu Picchu

I am still young and hope that Couchsurfing will help me to create even more special memories that I'll never forget!

Teach, Learn, Share

I play the guitar so if you are also a musician we could jam together and I could possibly teach you a song or two, I'm sure there's other things I could teach you that I just can't think of right now haha. I would love to learn to speak Spanish, so hopefully my travels through South America will help with this.

One of my favourite things about travelling is being in a new place and learning about the country, cultures and history, I can sit and listen to people telling me about their country for ages, so hopefully couchsurfing can help me to gain further knowledge about the world. As well as others telling me about their country, culture and history I can offer the same thing and share with you my knowledge of my country of Ireland, I think my knowledge of the world is also good enough to have many great conversations with you all!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I believe if you stayed with me or I with you, that I can share my knowledge of my country of Ireland and also provide some other interesting conversations. Once you get to know me I'd think you'd say I'm a funny guy so I could give some laughs. I am a clean and tidy person therefore you can guarantee your home will be clean whilst hosting me and in exchange for my gratitude of letting me stay with you I will even do house chores, (I am a very good dishwasher haha).
