About Me
Hey!
My name's David, and this is my first time back on couch surfing since travelling as a university student 10 years ago.
My wife, Emma, and I are travelling through Japan and South Korea for 5 weeks. I have fond memories of couch surfing and meet-ups in Tokyo, and I'm excited to do so again, this time with Emma.
PHILOSOPHY
Live life for the memories!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
WHY I HAVE STARTED (again)
We hope to meet and stay with people from different cultures and places (especially experiencing new foods). 100% the best way to experience a new place is to learn from the locals and exchange stories.
COUCH SURFING EXPERIENCE (David)
I had the opportunity to stay with two amazing hosts - Andy and Takayuki san - on my previous visit to Tokyo, and enjoyed several meet-ups trying new food, seeing new places and meeting new people!
Interests
David:
I enjoy sports, especially tennis and swimming through the summer months. I like to relax by exploring - what better than big cities. I also have a passion for food: eating common foods in England in their respective countries like kebabs in Turkey, wurst and sausages in Germany and pizza in Italy.
Emma:
I love a good workout in the gym, particularly weight lifting, but I love eating even more! Spicy food is my favourite but as long as it tastes good, I'm happy! I'm not afraid of adventure, and enjoy experiencing different cultures. No matter the weather, I always enjoy a long walk to appreciate what's around me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
David:
Stayed swimming in the black sea during a thunderstorm. The hail and lightning striking the black water was an unforgettable experience.
Emma:
I married David (he told me to write this)
What I Can Share with Hosts
David:
I'm good with animals and can cook (English, Turkish, and some German cuisine), clean, carry and generally help around the house. With tons of stories to share and as a positive guy I'm always told I bring an interesting perspective.
Emma:
I have no issues getting stuck in with any work that needs doing; cleaning (I do this better than David!), looking after animals, or a bit of gardening! I also make the best nachos you'll ever have.
