About Me
I currently run a nonprofit dedicated to reducing food waste - I teach people about food preservation, support local food banks, and help to save thousands of pounds of produce and other food each week.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Finding amazing people to visit all over the world, learn about local food, help them rescue food, meet new friends. I'm not much of a real tourist. I prefer meeting people, learning recipes from grandmothers in their kitchens, finding deals at the morning produce market, going on hikes. My parents have always opened their doors to people, even going so far as to take in those who didn't have homes or families of their own.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Uhhhh learned Portuguese in 2 months so I could converse with a friend's family when visiting Brazil?
Teach, Learn, Share
Cooking (vegan! I make pretty epic food most of the time), food preservation techniques, yoga. Also have worked as a singer, professional writer, and have 12 years experience as chief of R&D for an essential oil / cosmetics / supplement manufacturer so I could probably teach you something about those.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Great cook, good conversationalist, essential oils if you want them
