About Me

A music junkie and radio DJ from New Orleans. I've been to many festivals and legendary venues around the United States. I have gigs working as part of the festival staff at N.O. Jazz Fest, Bonnaroo etc.. My dream is to open my own venue here in NOLA and I'm working on that now. I love meeting people that want to go out to concerts and bars. I've also recently done some daytime hiking and found that I also really like doing stuff like that also. Concerts are usually my excuse to go wherever I travel. I like to check out the street art, dive bars, and good food.

As soon as the situation around the globe with COVID becomes more stabile, I'd like to travel through other countries as I haven't done that since studying abroad one summer 10 years ago.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to meet friends in other cities, maybe people that are into going to shows. Would also like to show people a good time in New Orleans. My friend introduced me to two amazing people he met on Couchsurfing that were visiting from another country and now they are some of my best friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have very eclectic taste in music from post-punk to IDM to all types of hip-hop.
My top 20 artists according to Spotify: Ladytron, Pictureplane, Robyn, The Faint, Drab Majesty, Bun B, Ariel Pink, Depeche Mode, 100 Gecs, TR/ST, The Chameleons, Cherry Glazerr, Sneaker Pimps, Yung Lean, Disclosure, New Order, Lil Wayne, Nas, ILoveMakkonen, Sketpa. I feel like that is only a snapshot of what I've been into recently. My father is a local musician and I also have a lot of love for the old guard of the New Orleans music scene.

My favorite movie ever is Easy Rider. As a lifelong NOLA resident, I think it captures the true essence of Mardi Gras at the end.

I don't read as often as I wish I did. The last novel read was American Gods by Neil Gaiman. But favorite novel of all time is either Hearts in Atlantis by Stephen King or The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz. I have read a lot of nonfiction books on the history of punk rock and hip-hop.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rapped and rocked the crowd at an open mic night. People told me I killed it!

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, France, Netherlands, Spain
