About Me

I’ve been a musician and playing in bands for more than half of my life. I’ve spent a lot of time touring, playing shows, writing, recording, and starting over.

I try to see the good in most people / understand where they are coming from. I try my best to be open minded and am always working on being better than I was the day / week / month / year before.

I enjoy all kinds of music but have been involved in a mostly punk community for a while now.

I don’t really do drugs but have friends that do, I’m sure most of us do. Drinking is fun but I like to be responsible. I enjoy weed but am much better at conversations without it. Im not concerned with doing much else.

If you have me over I’ll wash my dishes and clean up after myself at the very least. I try my best to be a respectful guest. I have slept on countless beds, couches, and floors from touring with bands and I imagine it’s not much different with couchsurfing.

If you’re curious, here are some of my more current musical endeavors.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’ve never been to Europe by myself. Last time was in 2008 and I studied abroad in France for a month. I’m nervous but also very excited. I really want to make new friends - not just with other musicians but other people who can introduce me to new things. I want to meet other people who are constantly working on ideas. I want to meet other kind people - the kind of people that maybe one day I could welcome into my own home. I want to know the fun things in your cities that are not for your typical tourists. I want to go to shows and see what music and music scenes are like out of the US. I’m hoping to learn some of your language. Mostly, I want to make some new friends and do some exciting things. I also love nature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I try not to brag but I did stay at the house that Metallica wrote their first two (three?) albums in when I was in Oakland, CA.

I’ll have to read more of other people’s answers to get a better idea how to answer this.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’ll give you guitar, bass, or drum lessons for free. No theory necessary. If you’re in New Orleans I’ll show you around.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m not going to lie, I don’t know what my finances will be like if we meet / if you have me. I’d certainly like to be able to treat you to something or make you a meal if I could. I don’t know many recipes but I hope to pick some up along the way to pass it on.
