About Me

I'm a pretty open and funny guy, who likes to drink a beer or two with friends, play cards and generally hang out to watch TV or something.
I am also a big fan of video games and I like trying new food all around the world.

I also really like music festivals. Been to the Hurricane festival every year since 2008, Eier mit Speck ("eggs with bacon" - our 'local' festival) 3 times in a row and a few other one time festivals.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I lived in the US to study abroad and while I was travelling, I'd love to stay in a 'non-tourist' space to get some insider information about the cities. I also liked the notion to meet new people! Now that I'm back home, I'll try to offer the same generousity to travellers who want to visit my town.

Interests

I can interest myself in pretty much anything.
My main interest right now, is to learn a new 'spoken' language (Japanese) and some 'work' language (R). This gives me some freetime/professional balance, where nothing really overwhelms me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Game of Thrones, Der Kreis der Dämmerung (Circle of Dawn), Die Chronik der Unsterblichen (Chronicles of the Immortals) [yeah.. lots of German ones], never read LotR and don't know why -> bucket list, all Discworld books

TV Shows: Modern Family, Big Bang Theory, New Girl, Suits, Silicon Valley, GoT, The League and probably 1000 more

Music: Mostly Indie music (Editors, The Wombats, Bloc Party, Mumford & Sons, etc.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in Japan I was "accidentally" baptized by a Japanese church. It is a pretty funny story, so feel free to ask me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some German, a lot of drinking games, some card games, math (if you're totally crazy for that :P), how to fix stuff and the list goes on :).

I am a big fan of learning new stuff. I am eager to try out some new things!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will gladly cook for all people living there. I have heard, that I am a pretty good chef and I like the challenge to cook in a foreign country with new ingedrients.
As of popular demand: I am pretty good with computers, so if you have a small Problem, feel free to ask me. I am also a very good handyman and can repair a lot of stuff with some tools.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
