Let's see... mostly retired (former GM of a BMW Motorcycle Dealership), entrepreneur, a lucky dad with two wonderful sons, an incredible wife who I still affectionately call my "bride", a long held belief in "working hard - playing hard", and most importantly, a passion for adventure, traveling and meeting people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I recently spent six months traveling with my son on our lightweight dualsport motorcycles from
San Diego, California to the end of the road at the Darien Gap in Panama. I lost count of the number of times that total strangers opened up their hearts and homes for us. We shared and experienced their local culture, food, customs, and sights and sounds. To me, life is all about the people in our lives and the ones we meet along the way. This is why I decided try Couchsurfing.

Heck... I'm still an old school 70's and 80's rock and roll guy, with a bit of country thrown in.
My wife and I have been doing "movie matinee and lunch" since we met when I was 19, so it's Regal Cinemas!
Kindle Unlimited is my new best friend. Thrillers, crime dramas, historical, sci-fi, travel, I love to read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Besides creating "Son-Rise", a 280 page book of photos and stories from the incredible six month motorcycle journey I shared with my son through Mexico and Central America, I once wrote a story called "Wild West Nun" based on a strange encounter in Northern Italy, which my wife insisted I post to the "True Stories" feature at Budget Travel Magazine, which I won, and which subsequently sent us on an all expense paid trip to Panama.
