About Me

Hi everyone!

My name's Dave I consider myself a 'people person' although coming across shy at first. My first travels were around the east coast of USA for 3 months back at the end of 2015. Honestly had the time of my life whilst there!! For that reason I’m traveling again, this time I'll be travelling around Australia for 3 months at the end of 2019 :) Looking to make new friends along the way and make plenty of awesome stories!

Little about me.. I'm a keen photographer and enjoy the cinema. I keep up with and play football and tennis. Not enough these days though but looking to do a lot more! :)

Work has got me traveling round lots of the UK, which I enjoy. But now I intend to take an adventurous route overseas and explore the horizon!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I began on Couchsurfing when I travelled the States back in 2015. Found it’s a great way to meet new and interesting people! Also to make new friends and go on some cool adventures!!

Interests

My Film Degree is what took me on the path of being a photographer, once a part time business of mine now a passionate hobby and big part of my life. Maybe one day I'll make it a business, but not yet...

Music is what keeps me going on a hectic day, whether it's writing, photoshoots or powering out at the gym! I love sport, whether watching it or playing it. Used to be in teams at my Uni but work and trekking took over my life and sport has taken a back seat, for now...

Cinema is a great way to unwind after a crazy week, but also no better way to experience a new film these days!!

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite films have to be Inception, Avatar, Blade Runner 2049 and Terminator. Very varied in my films but enjoy films with SFX, fantasy fiction and a good story!
Music I'm into includes House, Rock, Pop. Way too many singers and groups but just imagine anything that would play on a Friday night in a pub or club!
I'll be honest I find it difficult to sit and read a book but one that I really enjoyed is called The Passage by Justin Cronin. A very long book but it's all Sci-Fi futuristic based which I enjoy and the characters were cool! Great news that it will be a film one day !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The event that changed me was going to work at a Summer Camp in Minnesota in 2012. I had never been abroad by myself before this and over the course of the summer I met loads of incredible people!! Doing this travel around East USA will be very close to this in terms of experience!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always wanting to teach what I know about photography to other passionate people like myself, however if we share hints and tips that's even better ;) I'm a Canon and Sony user but my job involves speaking to and helping other filmmakers and photographers all day! In turn customers have taught me about the other brands and what they do for a living. Luckily it is something I enjoy!

I'm learning the guitar so anyone else who plays I'm keen to grow on this!

I'm a pool player so let's go to a pub one time and play, otherwise come along to a society meeting and I'll introduce you to the team!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Share all the best places to visit around the UK. If you have a guitar that'll be a bonus. I've only started learning but got to start somewhere. Really enjoying it so far!

I drive so happy to offer lifts and pick ups, can advise on good restaurants and pubs with varying prices.

If you want I'll introduce you to friends of mine in the area, chance for some fun social times
