About Me
It's always hard to describe yourself in a few words...
I'm a musician, photographer, software developer, and intellectual adventure-seeker from Australia.
I love a good conversation (and a healthy debate!). I'd much rather hang out in the lounge of a quiet bar rather than go clubbing.
At the moment I'm aiming to try and visit most of Eastern Europe and Scandinavia. While travelling I'd like to check out the main tourist attractions, but also get to know people in the area and learn more about the local culture and customs.
Australia is still a very young country, so I'm always intrigued by the rich history and culture which is pervasive throughout Europe. I'd love to learn more!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm pretty new to Couchsurfing. In my travels overseas though, I always found the most interesting part about visiting a country is meeting and chatting with the locals.
I'm here because I'd love to meet new people while travelling, and share experiences of different cultures.
Interests
Photography, Piano, Robotics, Programming (especially in Python), Reading, Late night philosophy, Clever puns :P
...and much more! In my spare time lately I've started learning Violin again (after a long hiatus) and developed a robot which can be controlled wirelessly using hand gestures.
I'd love to learn another language, so far I've dabbled in a few but am only fluent in English. So far...
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I appreciate a wide range of music, but if I had to narrow it down to one genre I'd say symphonic metal - Epica, Nightwish, etc. Also love movie soundtracks, especially Pirates of the Caribbean,
Movies: Lord Of The Rings, Inception, Doctor Who (TV series).
Books: The Temeraire Series, Lord Of The Rings (again), Jane Eyre, Regina Doman's "Fairytale Romance" series.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Started university when I was 14 years old.
Teach, Learn, Share
For visitors to Zürich, I'd be happy to show you around the area, and share with you some of the Aussie culture I brought from home too!
If you'd like to practice your English, I'd also be happy to have a chat, and maybe learn a little about your language too :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can teach you how to say "G'day, mate" and sound like an Aussie ;)
