About Me

Hello! I'm closing in on a quarter century old and I have found that I've changed quite a bit since the last time I wrote an 'About Me' section. As a scientist, I love having discussions about how things work together. I study electro-optical systems (telescopes and such), but I'm more interested in the science of the brain and evolution. Conversations about Life, the Universe, and Everything (h2g2) over a cup of coffee or a glass of beer are common occurrences with my friends and I. Through Couchsurfing, I'm hoping to have more conversations with people I would otherwise not meet! Don't fret though, we don't have to talk about science. When I'm not at work, I spend my time rockclimbing and reading.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet people I would otherwise not meet. To have good conversations and experiences. And to provide a welcoming place to rest.

Interests

Science, Coffee, Reading, Conversation, and going on Adventures!

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favorites

Books: Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (h2g2), Waking Up, The Commonwealth Series

Music: Gramatik and other funky music, Tame Impala, Portugal the Man

Movies: Ex Machina, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, the Matrix

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took a photo of the Whirlpool Galaxy with an 8 meter primary meter telescope. I operated the Gemini telescope on top of Mauna Kea while I was working there as an astronomy intern. And it may have been the first time I had ever used a telescope in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can take you rockclimbing as well, either outside or at the climbing gym. Other outdoor adventures are also encouraged.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation, adventures, friendship, and a safe place to rest your head at the end of the day. And most importantly, coffee.
