Overview
About Me
Hello! I'm closing in on a quarter century old and I have found that I've changed quite a bit since the last time I wrote an 'About Me' section. As a scientist, I love having discussions about how things work together. I study electro-optical systems (telescopes and such), but I'm more interested in the science of the brain and evolution. Conversations about Life, the Universe, and Everything (h2g2) over a cup of coffee or a glass of beer are common occurrences with my friends and I. Through Couchsurfing, I'm hoping to have more conversations with people I would otherwise not meet! Don't fret though, we don't have to talk about science. When I'm not at work, I spend my time rockclimbing and reading.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I took a photo of the Whirlpool Galaxy with an 8 meter primary meter telescope. I operated the Gemini telescope on top of Mauna Kea while I was working there as an astronomy intern. And it may have been the first time I had ever used a telescope in my life.
