ABOUT ME
I’m I
I am a retired photo/journalist, aged 78 and I used to like to travel long distances on an elderly Honda 250cc motorcycle, this bike now retired after 50,000 kilometres. I now have a Volvo C70. I don’t can now take a passenger. Im widowed, my wife Jennifer passed away in 2020. I live in a small village in Kent England called Greatstone on Sea.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

To meet like minded people, I love travelling on my own preferably, I find it safer. Also Couchsurfing enables me to meet locals or people who live in the country one is visiting, that way one can get and understand the ‘flavour’ of any country unlike staying hotels and hostels.

I like photgraphy, writing and travel by any means but preferably motorcycle. I would decribe myself as a motorcyclist and not a biker, no chains, no tattoo, no piercings, I’m a bit of what we used to call a square!

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I have ridden a 250cc Honda to Aquabar in Jordan through a then peaceful Syria from the UK and back. On separate occasions I have ridden the same bike to Hungary, Bulgaria, Tunisia and now to Romania. Also I have driven Samrt Cars to Istanbul and Marrakech plus on another occasion a 50cc scooter from the UK to Marrakech. Also I have driven a Piaggio Ape, a 50cc three wheel van from the Piaggio Factory to the Reliant factory to the Midlands in the UK, 1200 miles, 2000 kilometres which took 12 days, really great fun! Recently did a tandem parachute jump, petrifying!
