About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travelling round the world via Canada, America, NZ, OZ and Singapore. Doing some travel writing, surfing and livin' it up.
ABOUT ME
I'm fairly new to Couchsurfing, but the experiences I have had so far have been outstanding. I have made several close friends as a direct result of couchsurfing and am grateful to the website for making this happen.
I like writing, surfing, surf kayaking, playing guitar, rugby and cooking. I also like fishing, wine, the outdoors and walking. I'm working on several on-spec writing projects which I hope to have finished by the time I get home in March 2010.
I'm reserved and polite (Good British manners, no slouching or speaking with mouth full); and strive to behave like a perfect gentleman who is (generally speaking) the type of person your parents would like.
Or the kind of guy you'd be okay with your sister bringing home for Christmas dinner. ;)
PHILOSOPHY
Be good, but not too good.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm striving to set the best possible example for other site users as to how you can be a good guest: the kind of guest where, when you leave, everyone's all like: "Oh my God dude! I can't believe that AWESOME couchsurfer's leaving man, I wish he/she could stay here forever!"
-I'm that guy.
Deal with it.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far I've couchsurfed a few times in Canada and the USA and have not yet had a bad experience.
Everyone has been very receptive and generous and I've enjoyed every minute of the couchsurfing adventure: the idea that a complete stranger would take me in and accommodate me has served to restore my faith in humanity.
Interests
In no particular order: music, chess, wine, the ocean, films, walking, cycling, swimming, kayaking, surfing, whisky, cooking, driving and cars, writing/editing/proofing novels, short stories, poetry etc., clubs, cards, pubs, people with real opinions, fishing (seatrout, salmon, mackerel), keeping fit, beaches, sunsets, parties and alcohol, going out to dinner (especially sushi & Indian) and going to the cinema etc.
I have loads of interests and I can't list them all in this little form. I love it all man, I guess I'm a life-junkie.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like anything written by Bukowski or Hunter Thompson.
Two of my favourite films are by Francis Ford Coppola.
My favourite bands include Jane's Addiction, Sparklehorse, ACDC, Ryan Adams and Kyuss.
My tastes are eclectic and I'll listen to/read/watch anything once.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I saw a guy make another guy's head explode, with his mind.
